- History: John Chapman, or "Johnny Appleseed" born in Leominster, Massachusetts on September 26th, 1774. He had a vision of fruit-lined streets in Heaven, and in the 1780's set out in a canoe to plant apple orchards. This ancestor tree was nearly destroyed in a storm in 1996.
