You may be wondering why the Ohio Department of Forestry selected Chillicothe to receive the state's trees.
There are a number of reasons: Chillicothe was the first capital of Ohio and there is a lot of history there. Chillicothe also has a Tree Commission, a tree ordinance and tree nurseries. It was assumed that Chillicothe would take care of the trees and the resulting Ohio's Millennium Grove demonstrates that their faith was well-founded.
